AMCO's Youth Team
Sr Heba is a stay at home mom, who enjoys working with children and young adults to help inspire them in a creative way. Teaching is one of the many ways Heba helps inspire the youth of our community as it is a strong passion of hers.
Sr Nazneen is a Chicago native who has grown up seeing various Islamic communities in and around the city expand and flourish. In addition to working directly with the youth, Nazneen is excited to put her professional skills to use behind the scenes, by establishing streamlined processes, developing innovative strategies, and helping AMCO "go green".
Sr. Neelam is a passionate and committed volunteer who loves to give back to the community using the knowledge, skills and experience gathered over the course of her life. She loves sharing her passion for baking and arts and crafts in creative ways whenever time permits. Having teenagers of her own she knows that youth are at their “make it or break it” stage of life, so she devotes her time to help out with the youth of the community.
Sr Amena's sincere love and passion for the youth are what inspire her to continue to be involved in the masjid. Her healthcare background has helped prepare Amena with the ability to make personal connections with the younger generation. She hope to establish lifelong connections through the youth programs.
Br. Imran graduated with a degree in Computer Science and built a career in IT. He is a father of two who understands the value of engaging the youth Islamically, academically, and creatively. Imran aims to be an integral part of building a youth program by helping the youth find a voice and a place within the community.
Sr Amira graduated college in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. She has been teaching Arabic and Quran at AMCO Islamic School since 2012. Amira has a thorough knowledge of teaching to children of various levels and ages. Amira enjoys teamwork and believes that a strong Muslim community begins with strong Muslim youth.
Sr. Tamanna graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Behavior and Masters degree in Health Informatics. She is a passionate volunteer who enjoys giving back to her community. As a mother herself, Tamanna understands the importance of keeping the youth connected and engaged so they continue to be devout Muslims.
Sr. Shehla has a degree in Psychology. She pioneered the MSA in high school and was actively involved with the Islamic programs in college and local masjids. Shehla is a mother of two who aspires to cultivate an environment for the children of the community to grow together with the deen in their hearts and actions.
Br Abid was born and raised in Chicago. Completing his Hifdh when he was a teenager, he works toward balancing Deen and dunya in his everyday life. Abid loves working with the community, especially the youth, in helping them become their best selves navigating through today's world. Having graduated with a degree in OM&IS from NIU, he is currently working in the Supply Chain industry.
